There is no better way to see God move in your marriage than to pray for your husband. When you invite the Holy Spirit into the middle of your day to day messes and lay down your desires for God’s, something beautiful happens. Praying for your husband will stir up a love in your heart for him beyond any amount of romance. The more we pray scripture over our husbands we begin to see them as God’s dearly loved sons, created for a purpose, bought by the blood of Jesus and deserving of our respect simply for those reasons.
If your marriage is going great right now- know that the enemy did not forget about your husband and he has his own agenda to pull him away from obedience to God. Are you fighting for his protection in prayer or waiting till a crisis comes? James 5:16 tells us to “pray for one another”. You know your husbands strengths and weaknesses like no one else – you can pray for him like no one else.
If your marriage is on the brink of disaster and you are holding on by a thread – know that’s it’s not too late. Our God is big and loves to do miracles in the last hour. Make praying for your husband a priority and watch how the Lord can rekindle your love for your man.
I hope these 6 scriptural prayers will be a springboard for a new lifelong habit of praying for your husband. Simply fill in the blanks with your husband’s name as you pray.
