This is what my quiet time looks like. A One Year Bible®, a pad and pencil, and a cup of coffee (with Splenda and lots of fat-free cream, please). Every year, I try to read through the One Year Bible®. Some years I finish on December 31, and other years I don’t (I do not profess perfectionism in this discipline and, thankfully, our most gracious God does not require it). As I read and as the Lord speaks to me (John 16:13-15), I make notes on its pages and, sometimes, even more notes on my steno pad.
That imperfect quiet time discipline birthed every Bible study I have ever written and every message I have ever taught. God’s Word is alive (Heb. 4:12), precious sister. No other book can compare with it. He speaks through its pages, and I have discovered that He is never at a loss for words . . . which brings me to YOU.
Starting next Monday, April 2, I will begin a new series here on the Glo Girl Blog, and you’re invited. I’m calling it:
Monday Manna: Notes from My Bible for YOU
Each Monday in April and May, I’ll share scriptures, notes, and (maybe) even pictures of pages from my One Year Bible® with you. The goal is to help you get off to a great start in your walk with the Lord each week — and who doesn’t need help getting off to a great start on Mondays, the Debbie downer of all weekdays? Which now leads me to a little suggestion for YOU . . .
If you’re not already a subscriber to this blog, why not go ahead and subscribe right now? That way, every Monday morning in your inbox (or RSS feed), you’ll receive a nice, little spiritual boost to help you get off to a glo-rious week!
I’d love to hear from you, sister. Your comments and feedback mean so much. If you’re excited about Monday Manna, or if you have ideas or suggestions for this new series, let me hear from you. Can’t wait for our glo girl get-together next Monday morning!
Your sister
P.S. We’ve got even more exciting plans for our happy Glo Girl Blog community in the coming weeks, so stay tuned, sister. Or better yet, glo ahead: subscribe now.
