This morning Shanda and I are in Frisco, Texas where I will be speaking at the Women’s Session of the Southern Baptists of Texas Evangelism Conference. Most of the women who attend this event are like me: married to ministers. Others serve on their church staff, and 99.9% (just a guestimate, but probably pretty close) lead and serve actively within their churches.
As you can see, I have the privilege today of speaking to a very influential group of female leaders – and I am stoked. And more than anything else, I want the Lord to stoke them, too. But I can’t do that. Only God can. I can, however, pray, and so can you. And I hope you know that when it comes to prayer, YOU are a very influential woman:
“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16 NLT
So, my very influential sister in Christ, would you please pray for me and these sister-leaders of ours today at the SBTC Evangelism Conference? Would you ask God to fill me with His Spirit to proclaim His Word and to pour out His Spirit with a specific message for every woman there? And would you ask God to renew my passion and theirs to reach others for Christ and to fulfill Jesus’ Great Commission task to go, and make disciples, and teach them to obey His commands (Matt. 28:19-20)? Thank you!
And this is my prayer for you today, precious sister: May you always remember and never forget that you are a woman of influence. Your life, your example, and your prayers are making an everlasting difference in God’s kingdom every day as you continue doing what you do best: you glo, girl!
Much love from your sister,
“Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit … therefore glorify God in your body.” 1 Cor. 6:19-20
