Thanks so much for praying for me last Monday as I prepared to speak at Ladies Night Out at my home church. God gave us a glorious evening, and I got to share a message He’s been teaching me lately: 5 Things To Do When You’re Feeling Funky.
To be honest, I’ve been fighting the funk for the past few months. Just feeling blah . . . and a tiny bit blue, too. Ever feel funky? You have, haven’t you?
In fact, a couple of months ago, I had a lunch date with a dear friend. And soon as we sat down at the table, I asked, “How are you doing?” To my surprise (and delight), she didn’t just say, “Fine, how are you?” Instead, she replied, “Well, I’ve kinda been in a funk lately.”
“Hallelujah!” I thought – not that I was happy my friend was in a funk, of course, but I was happy that she was so honest. What a blessing it was then to be able to share my own funk with her, and to finish off our lunch with the promise that we would pray for one another. Which brings me to . . .
Today! And how very thankful I am to report to you that God answered those prayers! Only a few days after that lunch, I was minding my own business, having my quiet time, and reading 2 Corinthians. Then out of nowhere, the Holy Spirit showed up and started showing me how to fight the funk, and I’m here to testify to you right now, dear sister, that God’s Word works!
And since it is Monday (and Mondays are a little funky, right?), AND since it is Monday Manna here on the Glo Girl Blog, I want to share with you what God taught me from 2 Corinthians. These are the very same notes I gave to the girls at Ladies Night Out last week. How I pray that they will bless you as much as they’ve blessed me:
