Last Monday I asked you to pray for me as I began teaching Warrior Princess, a 4-week series on spiritual warfare, at my church. Many of you prayed, and I am so grateful to tell you that God heard your prayers and answered in a beautiful and glorious way! The first session went amazingly well, and I truly believe that your prayers made a tremendous difference. Thank you soooo much, glo girls!
Tonight is Session 2 of Warrior Princess, and your prayers are still greatly needed. We are videotaping this series each week so that other churches can use it for their women’s retreats, events, or as a video Bible study. Many, many details are involved, so please pray for the camera crew, tech team, worship team . . . and me.
My topic for tonight is: Warfare 101: Top 5 Essentials for Everyday Combat. If you live in the Houston area, I want to invite you to come. It’s absolutely free and no registration is required, so come join us!
You know, when God led me to teach this series, I knew the enemy would do his very best to attack and intimidate me. And he has. But the same is also true for you. When you walk with the Lord and follow His lead, the enemy will use fear and intimidation – two of his primary tools — to discourage and defeat you. So, as I prepare to teach tonight, I am also thinking about you, and I wonder:
Are you under attack today?
Is discouragement dogging your every step?
Is fear and worry turning your stomach into a knot?
If so, then what do you do? The answer is found in the Book of Ezra:
Ezra 3:1-3 (NLT)
1 In early autumn, when the Israelites had settled in their towns, all the people assembled in Jerusalem with a unified purpose.
2 Then Jeshua son of Jehozadak joined his fellow priests and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel with his family in rebuilding the altar of the God of Israel. They wanted to sacrifice burnt offerings on it, as instructed in the Law of Moses, the man of God.
3 Even though the people were afraid of the local residents, they rebuilt the altar at its old site. Then they began to sacrifice burnt offerings on the altar to the LORD each morning and evening.
Even though they were afraid, Jeshua, Zerubbabel, and the Israelites followed God’s will. And that’s exactly what we must do. Follow God even – no, especially – when we’re afraid.
Precious sister, will you stand against the enemy with me today? Will you join me in following God even with a knot in your stomach? Together, let’s do God’s will, pray for one other, and glorify God as our faith in Him triumphs over fear.
Your sister,
