It’s a remarkable breakthrough, glo girls! I have discovered the funnest way ever to burn calories! And when you combine it with the beautiful fall weather we’re having, you’ll discover it takes exercise and calorie-burning to a whole new level of awesomeness. Here’s the scoop:
Saturday morning, Bill and I hit the road at 6 a.m. and headed to the Round Top/Warrenton Antique Festival. This gimongous, mostly outdoor fall festival features acres and acres of antiques, junktique, and everything-in-between.
For seven hours straight, Bill and I walked for miles and miles from booth to booth. It was by far the most fun I’ve ever had burning calories! And take a look at the cool stuff I found:
2 possum-bottomed galvanized tubs! Soon these will be transformed into flower-filled planters that will flank both sides of my garage.
Dishes. Blue and white. Two of my favorite things. But when you combine both: bliss. I’ve been thinking about starting an inexpensive mix-and-match set, so when Bill and I found these, we I knew it was God’s timing.
Yes, another galvanized tub, which brings me to this question: why do we like these so much? Even we don’t know how to answer that question, but at it may be because they are soooo practical. Example: this particular tub will soon become a hose container for that ugly hose you see under my swing.
So, here’s my advice this week for all of you Get Down Glo Girls: find a fall festival, grab a girlfriend (or a willing hubby), and spend the day walking your legs off, having a blast, and burning TONS of calories together (just beware of the funnel cake and fudge vendors).
Now for my weekly weigh-in . . .
Hallelujah! I lost 2 pounds, AND (even better) I had a great time doing it. As always, and to keep me even more accountable in this Get Down Glo Girl journey, you can see my food list below.
Now, it’s YOUR turn. How was your week? How did all of you Get Down Glo Girls do? It’s accountability day, so please post your comment and let me hear from you. But above all, let’s continue praying for one another.
Count calories. Exercise. Weigh-in. Be accountable. All of these things are part of our Get Down Glo Girl regime. But the most important thing? Spending time alone with God in prayer and in His Word. This week, be sure to make time for your spiritual “meals,” and here’s why:
Deuteronomy 8:3 (NASB77)
And He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.
Feed yourselves spiritually this week, girls! Get into God’s Word and pray, pray, pray. Calorie counting and exercise are important, but always remember: He is priority!
Your get-down-glo-girl sister,
What’s your favorite, fun way to burn calories? Can’t wait to hear from you!
